Introduction to iPhone Widgets

Released with iOS 14 in 2020, Widgets for your iPhone and iPad are an extension of an app that lives on your home screen. App developers can use widgets to display content or data right on the home screen of your phone. Widgets are especially helpful for viewing current data of a specific app without the need to open it. For example, if you are using a running app that tracks your running distance, the widget could display your weekly distance. With the widget, you can easily see your distance at a glance without the need to open the app.

So, why should you care about using the Short Menu widgets on your home screen? Short Link analytics are an essential tool for tracking how your audience interacts with the links you’ve created and shared. By measuring your link’s performance, you get the necessary information to improve your link placement and click-through rate. Seeing a simple chart of your links' performance over time on your home screen is a useful way to keep your traffic in sight without the need to constantly open the Short Menu app.
